Clairol scientist have been developing a new dye molecule that greatly reduces the risk of developing an allergy to hair dye. This new molecule is called ME+, it is based on traditional dye molecule (PTD, PPD) but has been modified to not cause allergy. Those who do not already have a dye allergy to PTD or PPD, have a 60x less chance of developing an allergy to ME+. However, if one already has an allergy to PTD or PPD, they should not use this product unless approved by a dermatologist. In addition, EVERYONE should do the patch skin test 48 hours before they color every time as hair color dye allergy can develop at any time.

Natural Instincts is a Demi Permanent color. That means the color doesn’t permanently alter your natural virgin hair, it only deposits beautiful tones. Because it has no ammonia and a low volume peroxide, it cannot lighten hair. It gradually fades away every time you wash your hair and lasts about 28 shampoos. With demi permanent hair color you won’t get a harsh root line as your hair grows out, and it can be used to blend beginning gray and enhance one’s natural color.

The processing time has gone from 10 minutes for the liquid formula to 20 minutes today because the new allergy gentle dye molecule’s kinetics are different and take a little longer to develop. Rest assured the scientists made sure the color result is the same!
