We all want (and love) glossy hair, but there’s stuff we do that kills shine…here’s some hair crimes to avoid and things to do to try to keep that gloss.
Control your inner product junkie | Don’t overuse styling products like wax, creams, and sprays. They can dull your hair and colour. Instead, try multi-tasking products that offer styling and hair care in one (and are created for coloured hair). |
Reduce the heat | Heat styling tools like hair dryers, hair straighteners, and curling tongs can all lead to damage and dullness. Try cutting down how often you use them (hard, we know!) and use heat protecting products when you do. |
Show your roots some love | If your hair is already coloured, touch up your roots instead of always using all-over colour too frequently. If you use hair colour a lot on your lengths, your hair can sometimes become “over processed” which reduces shine. |
Go for vibrancy | When you choose a hair colour, pick a shade that has a bit of vibrancy in the tone, such as golden, bronze or red, in the shade name – this will help with shine. |
Choose products that add gloss | A good non-permanent colour is gentle enough to be used as a gloss. Natural Instincts gentle feel-good colour, comes in 18 shades, has zero ammonia and its formula includes coconut oil and aloe vera. It treats hair with conditioners and vitamins and adds a sheer coat of colour – giving it a brilliant shine. Our Color Gloss Up is also a great way to keep your colour fresh, condition deeply and add shine – in one simple step. You can apply it straight from the tube and, as it has rich conditioners including Shea Butter and Argan Oil, you will get great gloss and smoothness. |
