Horrible

when mixing, the top of the creme color split wide open leaking all over me,the sink and you can imagine the mess. I had already put the pretreatment on so I was stuck. . I can only assume I got a defective product. I would be willing to give it another try. if a coupon was sent by the company but to buy it again? For the expense, . NOT WORTH IT btw I could not put down Dark Auburn because your dropdown box doesn't list it as an option.

No, I don’t recommend this product.

Don't Buy You will Regret

My hairstylist instructed me to buy two boxes of whatever I was going to use to color my hair because although my hair is only to my shoulders, it is very thick. My friend used the developer then when she ran out she made the second developer. It was no where near the same color even though I bought the same exact product. The first one was a very dark color (almost black) and the second one was a champagne color. Now my hair is very uneven and I will have to go to a professional. The money I spent on this product was wasted. The whole reason you buy from a box is to not have to pay a hairstylist. Do yourself a favor and buy any other product!

No, I don’t recommend this product.

Overall Outcome Fell Short of My Expectations

I have been a Clairol Nice&Easy and Pantene customer for many, many years. So when I saw that both of these items had been combined into one product, I was excited to try it out. I purchased the same shade of color in the Age Defy version as I had previously purchased in the Nice and Easy version (5G Medium Golden Brown). Once I got home, I read the instructions and followed accordingly. The color mixture blended very nicely and appreciated the consistency of mixture. It was easy to apply because the mixture was thicker than most which prevented messy dripping and the scent of the product was minimal. Once the time was up, I rinsed my hair and applied conditioner. As soon as I combed my hair out, I quickly realized that the color was several shades darker than anticipated. Instead of medium golden brown, it was a dark brown, and it lacked the multi-tone effect and luster that am I used to with Nice and Easy. My hair grown incredibly fast, so I'll have to dye my hair again in a few weeks. I'm sorry to say, that I will not be using Age Defy again - I'll go back to Nice and Easy for their beautiful depth of color.

Never Again

I was using Nice and Easy but wanted to change it up. I thought this would be better for my hairs health. I was very wrong. It came out stiff, lifeless and the grey came back in about a week. I am very disappointed. I wasted money and time and it looks bad. I may go to an entirely different company now.

Will not buy again.

First off, I don't understand the point in the pretreatment. Secondly, I have shoulder length, layered hair and there wasn't enough to do my whole head. The consistency is like hair gel and it leaves your hair stiff just like hair gel. Now, the color cream and activating creme once mixed together does not thicken up, no matter how much you shake it. And it is like applying water to your hair. My walls, bathroom sink, and floor now look like a leopard. Not to mention this stuff just drips all over your face, neck, and ears. Luckily I have been dying my own hair for at least 20 years, so I know a trick or two to get the dye off that stains your skin. As for grey coverage, that is laughable at most. I only have a few greys and they happen to be right in the front on top. Started there, as per the directions, and it didn't even touch them. I even left the dye on for the extra 10 minutes as the directions suggest. Nope still there and very much noticeable because, and this is the kicker of it all, it turned my roots red. It didn't even change the color of the length of my hair. I had done highlights months ago, which this stuff didn't even do anything to. The worst part is, I now have to wait 4 to 6 weeks to fix this mess. I will be walking around with red roots and brown and blonde length from my previous highlights. So, in conclusion, I am sorry I wasted my $10 on this product and I will make sure that all my friends know not to use it, as it would just be a waste of money. I will just go back to the product that has never done me wrong.

Incredible hair color!

I have used every hair color available and this product is incredible. I will never use another brand. Not only does the hair color cover gray exceptionally but the smoothing hair treatment that you use before color application rocks! It is like doing a mini Brazilian blowout!! Can't miss out on this product. The conditioner is so much better then other brands. I buy 2 boxes since I have so much hair and I need more smoothing gel then what one box can supply. I get compliments the next day on how healthy my hair looks! I actually had more compliments after using this product then I did spending 475.00 at the salon for color and Brazilian blowout!! The smoothing treatment is worth its weight in gold!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Lasting coverage

This is by far the best store bought hair dye for greys that I've tried. Covers greys really good, as long as they're fully saturated with the dye, coverage lasts longer than any others I've tried, and the conditioners leave my hair silky soft. I only wish they made more of a variety of colors in the dark brown category, like a dark mahogany, dark auburn, or dark golden brown.

Yes, I recommend this product.
