Who doesn’t love high cheekbones and a chiseled jawline? We’ve tried it all, from contouring with makeup to mini facial exercises (yes, they exist!). But blowing fake kisses 8 times for 3 reps kinda hurts our lips. And when it comes to contouring, we never seem to remember what part of our face gets the shading or the highlighting. Besides, an uber dramatic makeup look is a bit much for a daytime trip to the grocery store. In comes good news! Did you know strategically placed highlights work just as well. Bonus, you do them once and you’re done until you need to retouch. Here, 3 super-quick tips to create the illusion of a perfectly contoured face using highlights.
Pro Tip #1
Keep in mind, where you place a highlight will add attention and lessen the attention in other areas of your face.
Pro Tip #2
If you want to bring attention to your eyes or cheekbones, make sure that your highlights are in this area of your face.
Pro Tip #3
If you notice fullness in the cheeks, focus your highlights on the top of your head, drawing attention away from your cheeks or where the fullness is.
See we told you! Much easier than those questionable exercises.
